Inspiring a new generation of life-savers

EBP South are helping Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance inspire a new generation of life-savers.

The Portsmouth based organisation hope to inspire young people about future career options by giving students a platform to engage with local businesses through high-quality programmes.

Our team of charity staff and volunteers have attended events across the region, from STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) fairs in Southampton and Fareham, to careers events in Portsmouth and Basingstoke.

As well as engaging with other local organisations, students have the chance to learn more about the critical care our crew deliver – ensuring patients have the best chance of survival and recovery when the worst happens.

From the vital equipment we carry on board the aircraft and in our emergency response vehicles, to the broad range of skills needed to deliver life-saving interventions, students can find out what it takes to be part of our Critical Care Team and how to navigate a career in pre-hospital emergency medicine.

Jacquie Jones, Project Manager at EBP South, said:

“EBP South value Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance’s engagement to inspire and enthuse young people to explore future careers in Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS). It is also a privilege to promote the fantastic work they undertake – raising awareness of the charity to everyone involved in our events.”

“Their staff are really friendly and patient. The charity support us regularly and the activities presented are unique and engaging. The Sim Van is an exciting addition for the young people to ‘have a go’ at flight simulation.”

“It’s always amazing to be at EBP South – inspiring the next generation of HEMS paramedics, doctors and pilots as well as spreading awareness about Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.”

Catch us at the ‘Get Inspired Southampton and New Forest‘ on Thursday 8 May at the Southampton Guildhall. Thank you to EBP South for their incredible on-going support and for helping to raise awareness of our life-saving service among young people in our community.
