Local freight service raise vital funds for their Air Ambulance

Far Logistics raises £6,817 for their Air Ambulance.

After first announcing its support in May 2024, the Freight Service – who together with Cardinal Global Logistics form the Cardinal Partnership – has tackled a multitude of challenges and hosted workplace events – all in aid of our life-saving service.

Fantastic fundraising efforts

The team joined us in September for our annual night-time fun run – Dash in the Dark – where they helped to light up the night on Southampton Common and raise vital funds – ensuring we can reach the next person who needs us most.

A team of 12 from sites across the UK also took part in our first festive virtual challenge in December. The mission: to complete 150 star jumps a day from 1 – 25 December.

Luke Dimmick, who works at the Totton site in Southampton, also triumphed at last year’s Garmin New Forest Marathon – huge congratulations, Luke!

Caroline Vann, Far Logistics Southampton Branch Supervisor and previous member of the Cardinal Partnership Charity Committee, said:

“I volunteered last year to join the Cardinal Partnership Charity Committee and had the opportunity to nominate a charity based in the South of England. It was very difficult to pick one charity over another as we all know they rely heavily on donations.

“I looked at the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) website to get a better insight of the charity and how we could work with them. I arranged a meeting with Emma (Supporter Engagement Officer) and came to the decision we could work together! Cardinal Partnership made an initial donation and then we chose events from the HIOWAA calendar that our staff could join in.”

“It’s a great charity to support!”

A life-saving difference

In 2024, we responded to 2,544 emergencies across our region – a year-on-year increase of almost 40%. As we witness this unprecedented increase in demand for our service, the support from our community could not be more vital.

We receive no government funding and without the incredible support and dedication of organisations like Far Logistics, we would not be able to provide life-saving pre-hospital care to give those most in need the best chance of survival and recovery.

Thank you to everyone at Far Logistics for your support.
