Huw Miles, Managing Partner of leading regional law firm Paris Smith, overcame his fear of heights to abseil down the iconic Spinnaker Tower on Saturday, raising almost £2,000 for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, the firm’s Charity of The Year.
The Spinnaker Tower, 170 metres high and offering breathtaking views of Portsmouth Harbour, provided the perfect backdrop for Huw’s charitable effort. Huw, passionate about Paris Smith’s place in and contribution to the community, was inspired to act by a sense of purpose shared by friends and colleagues.
Huw Miles:
“Taking part in this abseil was both thrilling and deeply rewarding. The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance performs life-saving work and it’s an honour to support them in any way possible. I’m immensely grateful to everyone who has donated so far and encourage those who haven’t yet to visit our JustGiving page and contribute to this worthy cause.”
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance is a vital service that provides rapid response emergency medical assistance to those in need. The charity relies entirely on donations to maintain its operations and to ensure it continues to save lives across the region. The funds raised by Huw and his team could allow the charity to purchase a state-of-the-art flight helmet, keeping its lifesaving crews safe and prepared for each of its emergency flights.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Director of Income and Engagement Keith Wilson said:
“We are so thankful to Huw Miles and the team at Paris Smith for their support and extraordinary efforts, not just for this event but the partnership across the year. People in our community going above and beyond like this are critical in helping us keep the air ambulance flying and saving lives across the region 365 days a year.”
Paris Smith, based in the Central South, is well-known not only for its legal expertise but also for its strong commitment to community service and social responsibility. The firm’s involvement in a number of charitable activities showcases its dedication to making a positive impact beyond the boardroom.
