Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Chief Executive Officer, Richard Corbett, has released the following statement:
“The passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is truly an end of an era. During decades where the world has changed beyond recognition she has offered a dignified and constant presence. Her devotion to duty coupled with a twinkling smile drew affection from around the world.
“Within our community at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance we have many crew who have previously served in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces, those of us who have mourn the loss of a leader who we have all been proud to serve.
“As we take a moment to pause and remember a life well lived, the Air Ambulance continues to serve our community, in doing so we reflect on the pride Her Majesty felt in watching her own grandson provide life saving service as an Air Ambulance pilot.
“My final thoughts are for the Royal Family who must share their personal grief as a new chapter begins.”
