Ever wanted to jump in the cockpit and fly over the skies in an air ambulance? Well, now’s your chance – sort of.
We have converted one of our old Citroen vans into a unique mobile flight simulator. And it’s coming to an event, workplace, school, club or group near you!
Budding pilots can experience the thrill of flying a helicopter with realistic simulations of the physical, visual and auditory sensations of a real flight.
Take off from anywhere in the world – or check out our pilot’s view and fly over Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Test your landing skills with controls and displays that closely resemble those found in our very own aircraft.
Director of Income and Engagement, Keith Wilson, said:
“It takes years of training and countless flying hours to become a HEMS Pilot, but our flight simulator gives the public a chance to feel what it is like to fly our H135 helicopter on a mission. With realistic controls, instrument panels and even weather conditions, this is the closest most people will come to taking charge of Helimed56. The simulator has proved to be a hit at a number of events and even entertained guests at Paultons Park. We can’t wait for more people to get a chance to fly while learning about our vital lifesaving service.”
The van is available to attend your event for free, but we do suggest those flying with us make a donation to support our charity. The simulator is suitable for those aged 11+. Booking of the simulator van is subject to availability.
